El Torcal is especially known for its special rocks and karst formations. Here you can walk several routes. El Torcal has recently been declared World Heritage by UNESCO.

El Caminito del Rey ("The King's Path") is a footpath that runs from Alora in Malaga to Campillos through the El Chorro Gorge. The path is three kilometres long, no more than one metre wide and is situated 100 metres above the river 'El Chorro' against the rock face. It can and should only be walked from the northern side (the entrance) to the southern side (the exit). On both the north and south sides, the nearest car and bus parking is one kilometre away, making the total walk along this path at least five kilometres.
